When asked about his relationship with Howlin Wolf, Eddie replied that Wolf was like a father to him.

The relationship between "father" and "son" became more evident as Wolf's health began to fail.  Wolf's medical conditions required a close watch and Eddie was there to do just that.

Eddie admired his work ethics and the 150% that he always gave his audience.  This would eventually rub off on Eddie and even after the death of Howlin Wolf, Eddie took the Wolf with him in spirit.
